Learning journey!

yay! wednesday had the much awaited Learning Journey. was so looking forward to it coz we were goin to war sites in singapore and i am very interested in that. reported to sch as usual that day and left for our first destination after that. we went to "Reflections at Bukit Chandu". it was a very nice place coz they still preserved the old hill look but the musuem was a new building. watched some videos inside and watched a hologram video called "Pepper Ghost show". it was very nice coz the holographic images very nice and real.
after that proceeded up to the second level of the building and continued to walk around. i was very touched by this story the tour guide said. it is bout the last few generals from the malay regiment. apparently their motto is "Loyalty and true". so after singapore fell to the japanese, the japanese offered to spare the malay generals' lives if they took off their uniform. but because they are true to their "group" they declined and were executed a week later. so loyal ok.
next went into this dark room to watch a video on the WW2 in singapore. very real although it is just audio effects. very scary too coz i can feel the whole scenario happening. it is such a frightening experience during WW2. outside the building, there was this big painting of many soldiers running down a hill and falling into a pool of fire. the tour guide said that the japanese wanted to burn everyone alive so they surrounded Bukit Chandu, which was the exact place we were standing on, with a pool of fire and the soldiers to escape, just jumped across but many were unsuccessful. so sad!
went for lunch after that then went to labrador park. that place wasnt very interesting coz just saw the observatory post, the guns, the ammos and underground tunnels. rather boring. how i wished we were the batch to go battle box and changi prison. i really want to see! ahh! nvm. so after labrador park, went to kranji war cementery. once i step into their place, i straight away felt very solem coz of the atmosphere. very sad. so many graves of brave men. i like the phrase "they died for all free men" that was engraved there. the tour guide pointed out that 10 graves here were the graves of 10 soldiers from the "z" squad or something. they were killed 1.5 mnths before japanese surrended because they tried killing some soldiers at an island but were unsuccessful coz the japanese soldiers were waiting for them there.
the tour guide also pointed out this very special grave. the boy's name is "papayya". he died in 1945 at the age of 16. which means when war broke out in 1942, we enlisted voluntarily into army at the age of 12. so honourable. i wouldnt dare! i really admire him. haiz. i was chosen as the flag bearer and had to hold the new zealand flag for the ceremony. went back to sch and after that left to watch "Ah Long Pte Ltd" wif yu fan, perry and xuan yu. the movie was very nice and funny. super funny lor. must watch one! laugh till can die. anyway done gimp already and all. here is how it looks like:
nice hor. haha. i will upload the rest of the pictures another day. when i can get the cable. for now, tata!!!
